" Besides music and that puts it all the guys are not high otherwise I'd bat. And we'll -- nice and that the if we'll ever. The former quarterback and that obviously we've volatility -- name was watched him now working with the NFL network. Joe how you know a great guys good morning thanks so -- to jump and I don't particularly at our feelings for the Panthers. How are you saluting you marching around a little girl who caught it immediately start and I would that -- it up now sit back. I happens."
" Well -- we we got so wants to talk about but we're just talking about does something about Peyton Manning. Becoming maybe the best quarterback we've ever seen maybe he's that good as you look at this season he's putting together. That completion percentage 73 point five and here's a guy that's averaging nine plus yards for past."
" And that's what that's all the -- I mean when you really look at the Indianapolis Colts they're really not running the football also Peyton has sort of taken it upon himself. Article I'll make it happen and and that you know you have to give credit to the young receivers to. You know he will when he lost the Anthony Gonzales everybody says well it looks like now -- are -- of course going to be that guy. You know Reggie is as solid as there is there but the young kids have really stepped up form and I think given him actually more weapons at a broader base to work from. -- they're certainly is a case being made by taking. For this being his greatest year in and when you talk about the greatest that ever played the game you cannot ignore him. The thing is is you know PP through what 49 touchdown passes in one year we thought that was almost never gonna happen and Tom Brady goes and breaks it. You look at the pass completion percentage that he has right now and you're not surprised I mean it's that the way he has played the game. With such efficiency and such knowledge is incredible I and I was listening to -- a minute ago when. He was talking about Tony Dungy trying to explain -- the pace and that you could spend an hour seminar with somebody and have -- trying to explain. The offense and Peyton still -- well throw for 300. Plus I think I think he's have a little fun with it. It -- you know I mean Indianapolis but the Indianapolis in the wind and have played so many times against one another it. They know each other just a question of execution that at all that you you don't met two of the greatest quarterbacks. Possibly wanting to depend upon how you wanna look at that it probably -- game."
" What we're talking about NFL quarterbacks we wanted to get your take on Jay Cutler. What you've seen of -- so far where you think he's going to in his career registered general thoughts on -- Jays so far."
" Well and win the deal was made for -- go to Chicago. It was a question of which -- you were gonna get what we you can get the chase who's a gunslinger. Who is the next generation Brett Favre threw. He will -- you. With the way he throws the ball he will wow you with his arm strength he won't wow you with his accuracy. Or are you gonna get the guys that you get wowed by I can't believe he did that. I can't believe but he put the ball here can't believe you put on the ground I can't believe you made this kind of decision. The only thing that I felt LJ back from moving to another level to become one of the -- in this game was his decision. When he was in Denver he did some things down around the goal Howard tried to force the ball and make plays and hurt his football team."
" needed to do was look at last -- completion percentage and the net net yards that he got that they -- like 187 yards and twenty some passes completed."
" When you look at those kind of numbers that tells me that he's just get rid of the ball getting out of his hands getting it to receivers and letting him go make plays the game against Seattle. Yeah Devin Hester catches what eight at seven yard -- you know -- a couple tackle goes protect step closer the kind of things that that. You know help this football team win but. I've been very impressed by the way AJ approach the offseason. Turning down a lot of opportunities could say that's been to Chicago is the best city. When it comes to marketing athletes there's there's no no they don't nobody else even close. And when you commit without fanfare that he did so thankful they they give didn't give them the key to this city. You know look at the last -- the Kentucky is that."
" It was pure stroke I thought I still hold out once accurate to get a quick scoreboard update we wanna talk about the and -- dame USC game that rivalry and asked him whether or not to be. Clausen has chance for the eyes until it was -- Brody mark."
" I'll take a -- from the Chicago Bulls updates I'm mark -- game not the Chicago Bulls tonight at Allstate arena of walls versus Rockford at seven think it started just nine dollars stopped by the box office today. Time to look closely at what the Atlanta Falcons are doing a good you have I think one thing that's often -- this week you know how they dominate -- and I'm 45 at Hamlin Matt Ryan throwing for 330 yards Lovie Smith as guys back on the practice field today. Forty points and sixteen rebounds for joke you know last night during the bulls' one point win over Milwaukee in a fake game with numbers. You know people of expectation. Because that's what I did in the poor rookie -- also did a double double for the Bulls and that victory and a hockey it will get a reaction Nikola hobby bullet back at the United Center tonight in Edmonton Oilers uniform. The play against the Blackhawks in the upstate. Is being sponsored by attorney David Spade a cohost of barely legal what Robert -- on SIX SEVENTY The Score back out. I'm Mark Brody and this is the official home for Bears fans Chicago Sports Radio SIX SEVENTY The Score and SIX SEVENTY The Score back."
" All right mark thanks so much this hour the Mully and Hanley show it was brought to you by -- a big money at an arts and again -- is out days covering. Notre Dame and and we're prepared kind -- decision while -- an assignment was to back behind their outline. I'd -- I'd -- joining us in the NFL network where Joe's working these days and Joe."
" You know we we were talking about earlier in the program. You were you were -- he's meant is that right supplies via my name was changed actually two Roger Rabbit Terry who was our public and the public relations director at the university Notre Dame. Communist office desk we have announced by less -- I told host these many explain to me it was -- and I call my dad he wanted to know I was really not -- come in to explain their name was these and I told -- called back that -- Roger what it was the nation -- as a trophy out there called Heisman Trophy and we think you have a chance for. And from now on you're -- size but like -- and you know there were buttons and -- bumper sticker and everything else and you know I thought they would they would think it was it was one of those rare things that happened where name coincided with the trophy and you know nowadays they put guys remember -- arrogant I think that is poster -- did Oregon now. On a thirteen story building. That they try and market it. To be out for the I almost think that the campaign hurt the opportunity to win more than helped it simply because. I don't think that the writers were gonna let that. Public relations campaign dictate who was gonna win the Heisman Trophy certainly implicate you wanted to hear was was certainly deserving of it. We have a week you go back -- 97 when you think the quarterback Archie Manning. -- has -- that the UCLA -- exit at SMU. Rex -- Ohio State. Jim pocket myself. -- pestering me at a Hispanic where they had a lot of guys at that particular class of 711 on play professional football."
" Either a lot of seasons out there I mean did did other people change your name two -- or are you the only one."
" Now back home in Jersey you know my sister by my sister's get a different name Christian married but. My -- are still he's been in New Jersey and they live in Florida so that advisement and --"
" Yeah. That's where they are well let's talk about the big game as we all know Notre Dame has. Hasn't beaten these guys since old one do you have a sense that this is the year."
" You know that night thing you just said well. Is let's talk about the big game. Com we tried to hype this game in in the past five years in some way shape or form to make it a contest and it really hasn't been because. USC has been so much better than the University of Notre Dame. I believe -- this year it is a big game. Jimmy Claussen has performed miracles that the university over the last. Four weeks in particular really it's not for a couple drop after they'd probably be undefeated which I expect him being undefeated going into this game. Expected USC to be undefeated going into this game so they're both pretty close but I really feel like it's gonna be a terrific football game USC is not what they've been in the past. And Notre Dame is -- either USC has come down and not to think Notre Dame has come up but not put to make it's a much much more interest in football game and I like I -- because they sort of spend time chick Texan with them every weekend I think you keep this up you can only Charlie just died right there on the side."
" I thought that's not my intention. And a -- you don't know I mean it's its interest I mean that they have been not that kind of the the the the last -- kids if you will. And and the miracles of these were coming off the bench in. And winning at Purdue does is he is he in the Heisman race immediate deal look at this as an opportunity for him to kind of stamp his name on this trophy."
" I think it's an opportunity to take a step forward absolutely -- what he has done his history wrote -- and his teammates are wrote. I have sort of kissed him up into the conversation about the Heisman Trophy there's a lot of football left I mean it's only -- outside game and play. TNT and -- the seventh football games to play in and a lot can happen over that period of time. But yet you have to say that with Tim Tebow being hurt Manhattan and I -- as a I'm less impressed with Tim Tebow this year that I have been in previous years I don't think I still don't think he throws a ball that well but you know he's part of an offense that is extremely dynamic. -- This game on this particular weekend as -- because Texas plays Oklahoma City got Kuwait and Bradford sort of showcasing. He got Jimmy Claussen showcasing himself marquee teams. People showcase the other night against the marquee teams. So -- read the couple weeks sort of give an indication of how the quarterbacks who will prepare I think going down the road but he certainly deserves to be in the conversation. It is the one thing that I and you know it eclectic counsel him on one thing it would be great don't get all caught up in the hype just go do which you do. And let the game come to you and -- opportunity presented itself -- do which you do that's still the football extremely well remember it -- couple -- that Michael -- Which to me is. Greater indication of just how good this kid become. Because in the past -- throw up the happening here to go to gold indicator you throw it to Michael for the -- the get big yards and such that he's done it without him. But it's at this at notre -- got there it is probably had his best talented players at the skill positions that they had in the last fifteen or twenty years there. You really look at them and the young tight end is exceptional -- exceptional. The running backs -- are good offensive line looks stronger. More aggressive than they've been in past years and to be out of the guys I think all -- do one thing that's -- decides he was gonna take over the football team again and the offense. And -- called plays some good things can happen."
" You know -- I remember doing a story on Rashad salaam when he came to town he was. He he was the youngest player in the league its time I think he was twenty years old coming out of Colorado earlier came into the league and he he struggled and he talked about. I set up there as -- saw the conversation the talk of the dark side of the Heisman how. The trophy robbed him of his college career he had to come out he didn't really wanna come out he came out. It was weird conversation he was a strange character but it was compelling stuff. Does does does the Heisman influence. Jimmy Clausen does he does what determines whether he comes out this year --"
" Why I don't personable. He's not ready to come out play professional football yet. This is the first year that there's been any indication America's debut only five games into this particular year -- Jimmy has caught everybody's size. I think he continues to improve as far as his decisions go. He continues to improve as far as his accuracy his footwork and -- a couple weeks he's played with a -- title right which you know is -- is an indication that toughness. So yeah he he's he's laying the foundation of a lot of very good positive things. How will he handle the other -- caddie handled defeat caddie bounced back. He's played -- you know replacing injured. He's been accurate in the ring he's been accurate in dry weather. And and that is that is an excellent test for him could I always felt when I was at the university. What we've played the University of Southern California that was my barometer as to how it might be able to play at the next level. What I got a good professional level I was looked like it at the Dallas Cowboys and I bet they are now the barometer of excellence of which I have to measure myself. If I can play well against them that I belong for me it was always a question of proving I belonged at a certain level. I think it's suitable long game for Jimmy. Yes we played some close games -- we've played some teams but they don't have the talent level that this team has. Tom BP can go out and play well against USC and I do expect him to. That I say to myself to keep -- the foundation for the next level but don't focus on it. Enjoy the college experience remain professional football at the top. -- rule on the island business. Both on the field and off the field enjoy the college experience especially the University of Notre Dame when things are going well my gosh. Look at the -- he's been through the first two years -- I mean they wanted to run him out on a rail after the first year. -- Jimmie couldn't do anything and now all the sudden he's become the toast of the town and deservedly so but. I think the Heisman committee. Is something that you know Lotta Lotta guys that won the Heisman have come out have been said that successful. So it's a nice college -- you put it in perspective of what it really is. And then you start to move want to the business aspect of your life just like anyone would when they graduate from college."
" Let's talk very quickly got about thirty seconds here about the professional side the business side of life that. Goes on in the National Football League and give me your thoughts on what's going on with your Redskins didn't expect more from these guys."
" Absolutely abuse of multi bit like they expect to be -- world inspect them win ten games now that have been lucky to win side. -- they've gone through the first part of their schedule yet for new coaches for the quarterbacks since they have and -- they're the only win that Detroit has been the only when the Carolina has. They've barely beat the Rams. Building -- with the Cleveland Browns -- this that is as far as playing terrible things. This as a football team that has a real problem offensively. They don't have an identity they're beat up in the offensive line. They can't throw the ball down the field defensively they're ranked fifth in the -- in the leaks I mean they're they're doing their part which you expect it. -- offensively they've just been so inept and trying to be it would create offense and yet to -- this is a game about -- so we're talking about -- earlier -- If you're talking about all that you gotta have a quarterback get the ball down -- I think Jason Campbell can do that this offense doesn't allow him to do they don't want to open wanna throw it quick. There's a friend of mine and and it's it's a terrific service is called athlete recruiting connections connections dot com. You get a lot -- duty if you if you if -- apparent listening. And you have a best an athlete the student athlete whether -- male or female no matter what the sport. And you wanna get a web based profile out there about video and the true size and height weight and abilities of your individual it's unique psychological 12 guys. Ford for high school kids to be able to allow profile out there so that some of colleges interest in. Finding someone in field hockey or soccer or basketball baseball football whatever. Have a place to go to do some research on the young person. I think it's a terrific opportunity for high school kids to be able to get their profile that we're somebody wanted to really get an accurate look at him as a place to --"
" All right great stuff Jones always love talkin' -- the NFL network shall playbook runs on Thursday Easter Sunday's Nextel all day all yeah. Are you all joke guys been just great to."
